Headquartered in Lisbon, Stakecorp also maintains a presence in Porto with expertise in a broad range of real estate, as analytics, structured finance, investment, development, construction, asset, hotel and restaurant management.
Currently Stakecorp owns 6 hotels, 2 residential developments and 3 restaurants concepts in Lisbon and Porto. Is one of the fastest growing most diversified privately held real estate group in Portugal, with a portfolio where currently includes over 60.000sqm construction, 703 hotel keys, 96 residential units and 3 restaurants and growing.
In addition to the firm’s existing portfolio, we are the most relevant partner of InterContinental Hotels Group in Portugal, having developed, owned, and managed over our hotels portfolio.
CEO
Eurico Almeida is CEO of Stakecorp Group, which he co-founded in 2007 with private equity funds. Mr. Almeida personifies Stakecorp commitment to the highest standards of quality, integrity and value with a large experience in Hospitality and Real Estate both development and management for over 12 years, where he was involved in all aspects of the acquisition, project financing and management of the company’s diverse portfolio of hospitality and residential. Mr. Almeida has built a reputation for his ability to navigate the hospitality worldwide industry and real estate, identify success operations and time the markets. Mr. Almeida was on the board of IHG Owners Association representing IBERIA market from 2009-2012. Prior to Stakecorp, Mr. Almeida had a relevant experience for over 10 years as a senior executive at mobile telco’s in Portugal, mainly in Vodafone (ex-Telecel) and NOS (ex-Optimus).
President
Henrique de Castro is President of Stakecorp. Mr. De Castro served as the Chief Operating Officer of Yahoo! Inc. from 2012 to 2014. He was responsible for strategic and operational management of Yahoo!’s sales, media, business development and operations worldwide. Mr. De Castro has more than 20 years of experience leading global business for some of the world’s leading brands. He served as Vice President of Google’s worldwide Partner Business Solutions group where he was responsible for Google’s business partners. Prior to Google, He managed sales and business development operations across Western Europe for Dell Corporation. Previously, he consulted for McKinsey & Company, where he advised clients across multiple industries. Currently serve as Director of the Board at TARGET (NYSE:TGT) and First Data (NYSE:FDC) as well as an advisor at Cantor Fitzgerald, where he leads the corporate venture capital arm of the firm, Cantor Ventures.
Starting in 2007 with a vision in establishing one of the most worldwide hospitality brands in Portugal with Palminvest SA, has grown into a hotel real estate and management powerhouse, recognized as one of the most reliable hotel companies in Portugal, winning awards both in construction and hotel management in Portugal and abroad.
In our first decade, we principally focused on hotels, but in 2016 we turned our focus toward residential as we believed it to be a growing and undervalued corner of the real estate sector mainly in Lisbon.
Stakecorp Group then purchased two relevant urban rehabilitation in Lisbon. A €50M investment in city center, next to Saldanha main square – Casal Ribeiro and Janelas Verdes.
Next, in 2017, we expanded into the Food market, gaining a significant foothold with the signing of SushiShop master franchise for Portugal, the most relevant Sushi company in the world for take-away and delivery.
More recently, we have refocused our efforts on M&A operations where we are currently studying several real estate sectors in the country.
